House Extensions
We build rear extensions, side-return extensions and double-storey extensions designed around the existing property and the way the homeowner wants to use the additional space. Our team considers access, structure, natural light, drainage and the connection between the existing house and the new construction. The aim is not simply to add floor area, but to create a space that feels like a natural part of the home.
Loft Conversions
A carefully planned loft conversion can create an additional bedroom, bathroom, home office or private living space without reducing the size of the garden. We complete dormer, mansard, hip-to-gable and rooflight loft conversions. The most suitable option depends on the roof structure, available head height, planning requirements and the amount of usable space required.

We manage each stage methodically and maintain clear communication as the build progresses.

Residential building projects involve many connected decisions. Led by Matt Carter, Firtree provides homeowners with one accountable point of contact from the first discussion through to completion.
Initial Consultation
We begin by discussing the property, the proposed work and what the homeowner wants to achieve. This helps identify whether the plans, budget and intended result are realistically aligned.
Plans and Quotation
We review the available drawings and specifications, consider practical site conditions and prepare a clear quotation for the proposed work. Potential issues involving access, neighbouring properties, drainage or existing structures should be identified as early as possible.
Managed Construction
During construction, the different trades and stages of work are coordinated in the correct sequence. Clients receive regular communication about progress, upcoming decisions and any issues that need to be addressed.
Completion and Handover
The final stage includes completing the agreed finishes, reviewing the work and resolving outstanding details before handover.
